1x Phygelius × rectus 'African Queen' (approx) 6-8 inches in height, and sent in a 1 Litre plant pot. 'African Queen' is a unusual erect, suckering plant with dark green ovate leaves and large panicles of stunning nodding, fuchsia-like firecracker tubular red flowers, that are yellow in the throat. The large attractive flowers are approximately 4-6cm. This deciduous specimen flowers in mid-summer and continuing into fall, and it is hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. It can withstand temperatures of -10°C to -15°C. This unusual plant has an ultimate height and spread of 1-1.5 metres. This specimen adapts well to containers, and attracts an array of pollinators, such as hummingbirds.
