Description

Details

You are buying ONE medium sized Sarracenia x Catesbaei (Flava x Purpurea).

Sarracenia traps and digests insects in its funnel like pitchers, the insects are attracted by a nectar-like secretion on the lips of the pitchers. They are very easy to grow provided you follow a few simple rules-

Keep moist at all times and never let dry out EVER, only in winter months you should reduce water levels but never completely. Use rain water if at all possible as tap water can contain harmful chemicals.

Please remember never to use compost or anything containing nutrients as this will surely kill the plant. Carnivorous plants hate any form of nutrients in the soil and you must use a mix of spaghnum/irish moss peat or your own preferred media.

Full care instructions can be provided at your request.

Plant will be sent bare root and will need potting up immediately on arrival.

It should be noted that this particular specimen becomes dormant in the winter, and therefore will shed a proportion of its foliage in the autumn.
